Welcome to Party Bites, a series we've borrowed from our sister site where fancy people at glamourous parties answer our probing questions.
It's hard to believe, but Owen in the Meatpacking District has only been open for one year. From the promise to greet every customer like Beyoncé to the paper bag bedecked walls, the store has made a splash in its first twelve months (it didn't take long to land on our list of the essential 38 stores in the city).
To celebrate their first birthday, they threw a kid-style bash replete with sweets ranging from rock candy to cotton candy. Special party-favor tees were designed by Ostwald Helgason and feature artful animals alongside a birthday greeting. While Hannah Bronfman pumped the jams, we asked the partygoers, "What do you hope to be celebrating a year from now?". Check out the answers in the gallery above.
