The Lauren Moffatt two-day sample sale has officially begun. When we stopped by, we found limited stock and prices marked at about 50% off. If there's something in particular that you are hoping to snag, we suggest you get there ASAP. Also, bring cash for purchases under $250.
With Fourth of July celebrations on the horizon, we were happy to see that bathing suits are the best bet at this sale. There are a variety of cute one and two piece suits, marked at $90 for one pieces and swimwear sets on the racks. A box positioned in the alcove-turned-open changing area is filled with swimwear separates for $50 each. Be warned, though—since there are no formal dressing rooms, you may want to know your size ahead of time. Cotton voile navy shorts, at $60, are also comfortable coverup options for upcoming beach days.
We saw several matchy top and bottom combinations, like a coral colored top and bottom with mint trim. Tops, skirts, shorts and pants are $90 each. Several styles of mostly printed dresses are available for $140. And a drop waist dress with a gold sequin V is a fun choice for any '20s theme parties.
Sweaters and blazers are listed at $130, but they're in very limited supply. There are a few outerwear pieces for $160, including a cute navy coat in the gallery above. Although belts and scarves are on the price list for $50, we only saw two or three of each. A $40 box could boast some hidden treasures, although we didn't spot anything we really loved in a quick rummage through. But for those who are looking for a particular item, especially bathing suits, this sale is worth a stop.—Jessica Wisniewski
