The nOir sample sale is on again at their showroom in the Garment District, and there's plenty of shiny jewels to decorate your wrists, fingers, necks, and more. When we checked it out this morning, many of the shoppers were sifting through bins on the floor of assorted jewelry, each in individual baggies, for $5—that's the cheapest offering.
Other than that, the collections were sorted in groups around the showroom. From the Jaipur collection, which has splashes of neon with crystal jewels, earrings are $25-$40, bracelets are $20-$30, and necklaces are $30-$35. Crystal rings are $30, while necklaces are $75 and bracelets are $50-$55.
From the Pyramid collection, bracelets are $60-$180, bangles are $40, and earrings are $30-$35. The Highlight collection has necklaces for $25-$30, bracelets for $30, earrings for $20-$25, and rings for $35-$40.
And in the spiky Mini Punk collection, bracelets are $40-$110, necklaces are $95-$125, earrings were $20-35, and rings were $25. And the L.A.M.B. collection has bracelets for $30-$50, earrings for $15-$20, necklaces for $50-$95, and rings for $25.
Aside from those collections, there are other baskets with price labels containing assorted rings, bracelets and such; this includes animal rings for $75-$110. The most expensive items we found were the dinosaur bone rib cage cuffs; the solid cuffs went for $250 (originally $450) and pavé cuffs for $600 (originally $850).
For non-jewelry accessories, there were iPhone cases for $40, clutches in solid neons or leopard print for $55, and "lion head" clutches (which look like they have door knockers on them) for $65.
If you head over to the showroom, look for a sign advertising the sale under a red awning—there are two buildings with the same number. You'll take a freight elevator that opens at street level up to the fifth floor, and you'll have to check your bag upon arrival. And while the promo e-mail we received for this sale said that merch was up to 75% percent off, a sales associate told us that discounts were more like 30% to 50%.
Regardless, these are still some pretty good deals. They don't have any more stock to put out on the floor and merchandise won't be discounted further—so the sooner you get there, the better. The sale ends Friday.—Laura Gurfein
