Kick Off Summer With a Day of Yoga in Times Square

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Times Square Alliance and Athleta—the Gap-owned athletic brand—are teaming up to offer a day of yoga classes on June 21st. If you know your Earth science (or astrology charts), you're hip to the fact that this marks the summer solstice, when the planet is at its maximum tilt toward the sun, resulting in the most daylight over 24 hours.

Salut that sun with five free "Mind Over Madness" yoga classes. Classes require registation, and the first 1,200 to show up will receive complementary yoga mats and gift bags. The two evening sessions have already filled up, so you might want to click yourself over and reserve a space for the earlier classes.
