The Parker Sample Sale Is a Full-Fledged Print Party

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Everything's shiny and bright inside the Parker sample sale, which opened today at 9am. When we stopped by yesterday, we found racks stocked with printed silk dresses ($80), blouses, and the occasional blazer. If you're channeling the Great Gatsby this summer, or perhaps heading to the Jazz Age Lawn Festival, you'll also be happy to browse the drop-waist beaded dresses, some even with feather hems, priced at $120.

The silk top selection includes styles ranging from basic camp shirts to billowy open back printed styles, all priced at $60. Printed silk pants (also $60) were a big hit in the dressing room: a subtle snakeskin print and a graphic geo print were favorites among shoppers. Black and white patterns looked refreshing as they swam in a sea of brights.

Beading isn't exclusive to the dresses. Fully beaded vintage-inspired tops are $100, and we spotted a pair of blush beaded tap pants for $70. Although leather was advertised, we could only find a few pieces, including a distressed moto jacket and a flared skirt, both $100.

If you're looking for smaller sizes, head to the sale sooner rather than later—at the end of the friends and family day, all of the 0 and XS sizes were on the racks, but they were scarce. The staff mentioned they had more stock in the back, but only in sizes medium and large. See the gallery above for photos, and the dealfeed below for info on hours.—Christina DeSmet
