BOFFO Building Fashion returns for its third annual store design competition, with Linda Farrow as its next project. Innovative architects will compete to build a striking pop-up shop for the eyewear brand within the parameters of a shipping container located at Pier 57 launching winter 2013. You may recall that shipping container-shopping is part of the permanent plan for the Pier 57 redesign, slated for a 2015 opening.
Previous fashion brands involved in the series include Ohne Titel, The Lake and The Stars, Richard Chai, and the unforgettably expensive Nicola Formichetti concept shop. The Building Fashion program links architecture with fashion to create shops that are equal parts fashion commerce and exhibition design. A wacky promo video featuring models in psychedelic situations sporting Linda Farrow frames can be found here.
