Eight Bridal Bootcamps to Whip You Into Shape For the Big Day

The wedding dress of your dreams isn't worth a thing if you don't feel your best in it. A handful of savvy New York trainers and fitness studios have dreamed up wedding-specific exercise regimens to kick your butt into "I do"-day shape. From private, customized programs to Central Park sweat-fests you can subject your bridesmaids to, we found eight options for bridal bootcamp. Plan to invest about 12 weeks on average, with personal training packages in the realm of three grand. But those pictures are forever, right?

Personal Training

Shredding for the Wedding at David Barton Gym
Location: 4 Astor Place, New York, NY
Duration: Two months, five times per week
Cost: $2,500
Details: This two month package bundles nutritional coaching, 25 private sessions, and a membership to the gym. You'll work out with your trainer five days per week, each day targeting a different area: arms, legs, shoulders, chest, and back.

Bridal Bootcamp at Active Resistance Training
Location: 424 Broadway, between Howard and Canal Streets
Duration: Customizable, but must be contacted 12 weeks prior to wedding for consultation
Cost: 20 sessions for $3,000
Details: A.R.T. offers customized personal training programs as well as bootcamps—three times per week or five times per week—for the "bride on a budget."

Wedding Training by Molly Winter Fitness
Location: Private residences, home gyms, corporate spaces, and on location
Duration: Packages from two to six months, two to three times per week
Cost: $3,200 and up
Details: Fitness programs are designed around the dress that the bride will sport on the big day. In addition to two, four, and six month packages for brides, Molly Winter Fitness also offers a Bridesmaids Bootcamp for the bride who wants control over everything down to her bridemaids' body fat percentages. Nutritional counseling can also be tacked on for a fee.

Bridal Fitness Training at NY Personal Training
Location: 12 West 21st Street, 2nd Floor, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues
Duration: Custom
Cost: Dependent on custom program, free estimates available
Details: A great option for the bride-to-be who keeps odd hours—NYPT's trainers have 24/7 access to the studio, so they'll accomodate your schedule with timing that works for you. "This means if you need a workout at 3:00 am, you have the option to call your NYPT fitness professional to accommodate you for your specific time needs. (We don't recommend you call them at 2:30 am to work out at 3:00 am.)"

Bridal Fitness at Underdog Fitness
Location: Six Manhattan locations above 34th Street [link]
Duration: Minimum 12 weeks, three private sessions per week
Cost: Prices upon request
Details: Three private training sessions per week are accompanied by a fitness plan to follow on days without your trainer, a gym membership, and meal planning.

Group Classes

Bridal Challenge at Physique 57
Location: 24 West 57th Street, Suite 805, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues
Duration: Four weeks, four times per week
Cost: $30 per class
Details: Attend four Physique 57 classes per week for four weeks and you'll be rewarded with 15% discount on a 20 class package as their "wedding gift" to you. Classes must be completed before the big day and the challenge can only be done twice.

Bridal Reinvention Challenge at Chaise 23
Location: 40 East 23rd Street, between Madison and Park Avenues
Duration: Four classes, four times per week
Cost: Various packages available, about $24—$30 per class
Details: Much like Physique 57's deal, you have to take four classes per week for four consecutive weeks and you'll earn 15% discount on your next 30 day unlimited package, plus a complimentary private group class for you and your bridesmaids. Before and after pictures and measurements as well as a Reinvention Fitness Program are included.

FitBrides Boot Camp
Location: Central Park on the UES and UWS, Battery Park
Duration: 12 weeks
Cost: Price upon request
Details: An outdoor fitness program that focuses on resistance, cardio, and core training. For a one-on-one experience, FitBrides also offers personal training, which comes with nutritional counseling, custom fitness programs, and unlimited phone and e-mail coaching.
