Hollister No Longer Has Shirtless Greeters, But Abercrombie Does

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

While we're disappointed to find out that Hollister no longer has shirtless greeters, we're happy to report that the sexy tradition is alive and well at the Abercrombie & Fitch flagship on Fifth Avenue. Though we remember two greeters standing outside from seasons past, there's only one dude with chiseled abs and very low-slung jeans standing in the entryway today.

A store manager told us that a greeter is typically there everyday, but it's not guaranteed and they don't have a set schedule. Feel free to check him out, if you can stand the noise.—Laura Gurfein
