Loomstate's Fire-by-Friction Class; Coach's High Line Gift

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

PROSPECT PARK—Inspired by Father's Day, Loomstate is going to teach you a skill that'll surely impress dad: fire-by-friction. The lesson goes down Saturday from 3pm to 5pm at the Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Park. It's a free class (and open to both genders!), you just need to shoot an e-mail to customercare@loomstate.org to secure your spot. [Racked Wire]

HUDSON YARDSCoach has donated a whopping $5 million to the Campaign for the High Line to help fund everyone's-favorite-elevated-park's Northern expansion. The gift will open the High Line to the Rail Yards—the final, unfinished portion of the project. Part of the accessory brand's new global HQ will straddle the High Line at 30th Street, creating a semi-enclosed area that will be called "Coach Passage." [Racked Wire]
