The Nancy Gonzalez Sale Is Worth the Trip If you Have the Funds

The Nancy Gonzalez sample sale begins at 9am this morning, and we popped in ahead of time this weekend to take a peek at the goods. With tons more stock than we've ever seen at past sales, there's a lot to choose from. But be prepared: since we're dealing with some of the world's finest animal skins, it can get expensive.

Basically, you don't go to this sale expecting to scoop up a large crocodile dome bag for under a grand—you'll be shelling out $1,700 for that—but the bag retails for around $3,600 so the discount is still rather high. For those who can afford to drop cash like that, this would be considered a fair deal, considering the quality and craftsmanship is like no other.

Just holding one of these exquisite bags made us feel all elegant and luxurious. Walk into Bergdorfs and you'll find tons of Nancy Gonzalez bags in all shapes and sizes, with nothing priced less than $800. At the sale, you will absolutely find something for less, like a python clutch for $450. Prices for the women's bags range from $450 to $1,800, with size and skin type determining the value.

And gentlemen, there's a table for you. We saw some croc messengers and overnight duffles, but these are the priciest pieces of all, costing $2,200 a pop.

As if the stock that is already out isn't enough, there is additional merchandise waiting to be put out. And as far as further markdowns go, you know the drill: if it happens at all, it'll likely be on the last day. However, we received no confirmation that prices would be getting any lower.
