The Rebecca Minkoff sample sale got off to a crowded start this morning—we arrived 45 minutes before the sale opened, which meant we didn't get in until 12:45. By the time we made it inside, the line was down Fifth Avenue and wrapped around the corner along 28th Street. Sounds daunting, but it's worth it. These price are phenomenal and there are plenty of styles and colors to choose from.

The sale boasts up to 75% off ready-to-wear, handbags, and shoes, but of course, the ready-to-wear and shoes are not the reason for the huge line. As always, it's the bags. The handbag tables are stocked full, and signs are posted everywhere with the prices.

Bags range from $100 for tiny clutches and totes to $300 for luggage. Mini M.A.C.s and Mini 5-Zip M.A.C.s are $125, and if you're interested in a slightly larger bag, you can choose from one of the many M.A.C. colors for $175 or a M.A.B. mini for $250. There are also plenty of Cupids, Swings, and Jealous bags if you need a cute workbag.

You'll find these bags in all different colors—from neon woven to deliciously
sherbet leathers—as well as in classic black and cognac shades. You can also score a one-of-a-kind sample from table next to the cash wrap for $150. A table of accessories includes iPhone and iPad cases, little wristlets, and bracelets, none of which go above $100.

There are roughly 18 styles of overstock shoes and a box full of samples (including a pair from Rebecca Minkoff's very own closet). Flats are $75, pumps and wedges are going for $150, and boots are $175. The clothing is mostly overstock as well, with plenty of silk floating on the racks. We spotted a great short-sleeve silk top with beadwork on the sleeves that came in a couple colors (like burgundy and beige).

The prices on the clothing are good, even though the selection is minimal: tank tops are $60, long-sleeve tops and pants are $100, sweaters, shorts and skirts are $75, dresses are $150, and jackets are $200.

One of the sample sale organizers told us that they would be restocking almost every day. If you can handle the line a second time, it might be worth stopping by again. Let us know in the comments if you scored anything good, and see the dealfeed below for all additional info.—Dana Melanz
