Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The palace of all that is high-end retail—Bergdorf Goodman—is looking a little rough around the edges. In homage to the Costume Institute's upcoming exhibit Punk: From Chaos to Couture (take a shot for every time you've read that today), the fancy pants store has bedecked their windows with all the designer-interpreted punk Fifth Avenue can handle.
Spiked Christian Louboutin pumps and skull-adorned Alexander McQueen minaudières fill the buzzy accessories quotient, but the real gems of the display are the archival designer pieces. Get over to BG and press your nose up to the windows to check in on 2003 Chanel and 2009 McQueen—or just click through our gallery, above.
