A Harlem woman is suing M.A.C. Cosmetics, claiming she contracted herpes after one of the brand's representatives applied Rihanna's "Woo" lipstick on her at a Barclays Center pop-up shop. The NYDN reports that Starkeema Greenidge, 28, is requesting unspecified damages, saying that the outbreak cost her mental anguish, emotional distress, and two weeks out of work.
The suit explains that M.A.C. "didn't use a fresh or new lipstick tube, but rather one that had been used for other patrons." Let this settle the debate once and for all that slabbing any kind of tester product on your mouth—or eyes, or face, or wherever—is usually, always a bad idea.
