This week, Alexandra Jacobs checked out the new Kate Spade flagship on Madison Avenue. The headline, "Having Fun Is Hard Work," gets explained in the last paragraph: "For unlike many of her neighbors, the Kate Spade customer is not one of eternal leisure; she rather works strenuously to convince everyone what a good time she's having, what an eternal summer camp life is.
