Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Vidal Sassoon's iconic bob haircut, and to celebrate, the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series is offering cuts at the 1963 price of $7. To put that in context, that's the current cost of a double Shake Shack burger; a really cheap manicure; most beers during "happy hour" in Manhattan; and roughly three subway rides.
The cuts will be available at the Sassoon Salon New York Uptown on West 56th Street from 10am to 7pm on June 4th.
Appointments are required, and they can be made here—there's only a limited number of spaces available, so to snag one you might want to act fast. There's also an accompanying contest, which you can see the details for here.
