Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Recreate your own sexy Don Draper Manhattan bachelor pad when mid-century modern furniture brand Knoll opens their Home Design Shop tomorrow. The new store is located at 1330 Avenue of the Americas, just a stone's throw from the Museum of Modern Art, which has a collection of the brand's forward-thinking designs in their permanent collection. Mad Men swag? Check. Museum-worthy? Check.
Despite 75 years in the arena, this will be the brand's first direct-to-consumer retail operation. The ground floor of the new space will offer a selection of residential furniture and textiles, curated on a seasonal basis. The second level will serve as a showroom for the brand, and floors three and four will house company offices.
