Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Our morning Instagram feed was chock full of pictures of an enormous white shirt hanging outside of Maryam Nassir Zadeh, but with very little explanation. Curiosity got the best of us and we headed over to the Lower East Side boutique to have a look for ourselves.
Last night was the opening reception for Gefühl, an exhibition of fashion and product design resultant from a collaborative workshop between Germany's University of Arts and Design Karlsruhe and New York's Pratt Institute. The giant shirt is called Shirtain and is the brainchild of Landry Low and Mariano Gemmo. Congrats, kids: you got everyone at the corner of Norfolk and Rivington gawking.
