Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last week, Best Made Co.—purveyors of axes and other woodsmen-haute-craft goods—set up shop in the most unlikely of places: Tribeca (you know, just one of the wealthiest ZIP codes in the country slash home to Beyonce and Jay Z). Open Wednesdays through Sundays from noon 'til 7pm, the new store also functions as the brand's headquarters and workshop. Per Best Made's site: "Whether you're stopping by 36 White Street to pick up an axe, or to attend a new workshop, don't be surprised if you run into our founder, or any member of our illustrious staff."

Regarding said workshops, there are two planned for this weekend: Axe Restoration on Saturday and Field Medicine on Sunday. Can't make it in during usual store hours to browse nautical badges or pick up your next collapsable bucksaw? Feel free to schedule an appointment. After the jump, more images of the space.
