Tour Century 21's New Floors, Cafe, and M.A.C. Counter

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Century 21 flagship downtown—way downtown—has expanded across the board. Three new selling floors were revealed last month, creating a total of six floors at the Financial District mainstay. The new floors feature updated fixtures, decor, and wider aisles—but don't get it twisted: it still isn't Bergdorf Goodman. The new floors still very much fit in with the C21 you know. The not-new floors will also be getting updates, like extra fitting rooms, through the spring. Renovations on the shoe department are under way now.

Additionally, two brands have found homes inside of the store. A Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf cafe has been inserted on the third floor (where all the really good designer merch is) and the shiny new M.A.C. cosmetics counter is proudly beaming at the Cortlandt Street entrance. In the gallery above, a mix of press pictures and what we found walking through this morning at the store's grand expansion reveal with their new style ambassador, stylist Eric Daman.
