Fifth Avenue between 14th and 23rd Streets is seeing quite the TLC from retailers lately, and the latest store to announce a makeover is Club Monaco. The flagship at Fifth Avenue and 21st Street will close today and relocate to 3 East 18th Street at Broadway through September 16th, while the Fifth Avenue crown jewel is polished. Or remodeled.
Also working on their lower Fifth Avenue presence are C. Wonder and Zara. The holiday pop-up shop C. Wonder opened on the avenue closed with plans to re-open as a permanent store. Meanwhile, a Zara employee at the location between 17th and 18th Streets informed us on a recent shopping trip that they were light on merchandise because they too would be closing temporarily for a facelift. By fall, the stretch linking Union Square and Flatiron should be looking quite fresh.
