Brooklyn Slate Company has opened their very own shop at 305 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook. The company name is self-explanatory: Sean Tice and Kristy Hadeka live in Brooklyn and sell things made of slate, most famously cheeseboards—which you can cleverly write on with chalk to ID the brie.
Of the new shop, Tice says it's, "more of a showroom with a few other houseware items that we think go along well with our boards." To commemorate the launch, the store will host an opening event in conjunction with National Grilled Cheese Day—that's Saturday, April 13th FYI—flipping complimentary GC sammies from noon 'til four.
