The Roger Vivier sample sale opened to the public at 10am this morning at Soiffer Haskin—and boy was the selection vast. When wewalked into the room, we saw red: there were piles of red boxes everywhere you turned, and these boxes were filled with a variety of shoes in mint condition.
First thing to note: Due to the high level of quality this brand boasts (and rather genuinely, we might add), Soiffer Haskin enlisted what seemed like 30 employees to stand guard by all of the merchandise, while also helping customers find styles and sizes. This means no grabbing at your own risk. This sale is way too classy for that. You request to see a shoe, and if they have it in your size—which seems highly likely due to the mass amount of stock—it's handed to you in its elegant box.
Don't expect to walk out with a pair of shoes and a bag for a couple hundred dollars, because the prices are still rather high. Nevertheless, the discounts are somewhat fair considering that the merchandise originally ranges from about $500 to $1,500.
Everything is marked down between 50% and 70% off and the prices are listed on each and every item. So if you are looking for a pair of the infamous buckled high heels, expect to spend no less than $325. We did, however, spot some espadrilles embellished with the famed buckle priced at $275, but that was the least expensive shoe we saw. Something more heavily adorned, like a pair of pink feathered heels, was marked at $825, and a crystal buckled peep-toe pump was $725.
As for the bags, there's again a huge selection to choose from. We picked up a simple satin evening clutch for $325, and snakeskin baguette for $400. There were other elegant bags in suede, pony, and leather that were priced at $650.
One thing to consider: there is a ten-item limit per person. So even if you have all the money in the world, you are only permitted to walk out with ten Vivier pieces in total.
The sale is credit card only and runs until Tuesday. Click through the gallery above for some shots of the stock, and see the dealfeed below for more information on the sale hours.—Claudia Saide
