Next month, uptown shoe salon Chuckies will get its third outpost on the Upper East Side on Lexington Avenue, joining storefronts on Third Avenue and East 86th Street. If you've never been inside, let us paint the picture: imagine shelves upon shelve of high-end designer shoes, from brands like Balenciaga, Brian Atwood, Guiseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, McQueen, Prada and more. Basically, you go there to splurge—not just shop.
All of the shoes are cherry-picked by owner and designer Ritch Erani, mostly in Europe. For an idea on how far Erani's come from his early retail days, consider the fact that he worked in the stock room at Strawberries. Now, he also designs two collections of his own: Ritch Erani NYFC, and the Chuckies in-house collection.
