After 18 years at the same address, J. Mendel is ready for more spacious digs. The brand will relocate this fall to a three-floor location with twice the space they've got now. Fear not, Madison Avenue clientele: the move is just three blocks north, near where the avenue crosses East67th Street.
Since opening the boutique in 1995, the furrier has added ready-to-wear, bridal, handbags, accessories, and home furnishings. With the significant upgrade in square footage, the new store will allow the expanded product categories space to breathe. Ready-to-wear, accessories, and fur will be on the main floor; bridal and eveningwear will occupy the second level; and VIP services will operate on the lower level. J. Mendel joins Fred Leighton, Fogal of Switzerland, Oscar de la Renta, and Michael Kors on the block. Alexander McQueen, Kate Spade, and Maje will all join in the coming months.
