One of the the tragedies of being five feet tall is that it's really hard to pull off shoes that cut you above the ankle. So while I love the look of all the brightly colored high-tops currently in stores for spring, I've resigned myself to the fact that they're probably not for me.

Instead, I'm going to go old-school with a pair of mint Lo Pro sneakers from Vans. They come in a fun, eye-grabbing color, but the shape is feminine and streamlined—perfect for throwing on with cut-offs or a dress on those spring and summer days when you can't wait to get outside.
