Some people have museum-quality shoe collections of their own. The rest of us have to go to an actual museum if we want to see Roger Vivier's Eyelash Heel pump. On view now, the Shoe Obsession exhibition at the Museum at FIT has some of the most iconic heels ever on display—more than 150 of them, to be exact.

Curator Valerie Steele recently described them like this: "Some of them are works of art which you couldn't hardly imagine wearing, but others are works of art that you really would imagine wearing to all sorts of important occasions in your life."
