If yesterday's loss of green space didn't get your Williamsburg panties in a bunch, maybe this will do: Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters are coming. (If you're pumped that the neighborhood is becoming more shoppable and giving you fewer reasons to trek into Manhattan, that's permissible, but don't say it too loudly.)
The impending Anthropologie would hold down 10,000 square feet within the upcoming Whole Foods complex at 242 Bedford Avenue. At a total of 150,000 square feet, Anthro's going to need some roommates: Joe Fresh, New York Sports Club and Citibank are all in leasing talks.
The address puts them next to Duane Reade and across the street from the shuttered Bagel Store, who couldn't make the rent increase and had to reopen about ten blocks south.
Meanwhile, at 102 North Sixth Street, Urban Outfitters has landed a space between Berry and Wythe. The store is located next to an existing American Apparel, with rumors that J.Crew could be on the way.
