Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Free stuff alert! The theaters of the East Village need to unload props, furniture, costumes, and set pieces from previous productions, and rather than send the haul off to a landfill, they'd like to give it to you for free. There is a small caveat—it's $5 to get in to the event (but free for artists and art students) but you get to take as much as you want, again, for free. Last year, visitors scored everything from T-shirt guns to vintage bicycles. Recent productions have included "Fever" and "The Detour," if you want any clues for what might be around this time around.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 6th at 19 East 3rd Street from noon to 3pm. If you'd like to get rid of some stuff yourself, you can coordinate a drop off or a pick up; check out their site for more details on that.
