SoulCycle Goes Outside for $500 a Seat (OK, It's a Fundraiser)

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Have you ever dreamed about doing SoulCycle outdoors? No, not like actually cycling on a bicycle on the road, but taking a stationary cycling class outdoors. Yeah? Your chance is coming! On Thursday, April 11th, one-hundred soulful, yellow bikes will be toted up to the High Line for a fundraising sunset ride, benefiting Friends of the High Line.

Once the sun goes down, the cycling studio's signature grapefruit-scented candles will be lit (will you be able to smell them in the open air?) and after class you'll enjoy champagne and canapes.

It's $500 to get in the door—er, on the elevated park—for the ride as well as a t-shirt. An extra $750 gets you not only the class and the t-shirt, but also a signed copy of the High Line book. For a total of $5,000 you get to be in the front row for the class and you get not only the t-shirt and the book but also a tote bag and an umbrella. Swag.
