Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Haus Alkire, a project between designer Julie Haus and artist Jason Alkire, opened quietly to 45 White Street. The pair began working on the line together in 2010 in their spare time, with Alkire's prints appearing on Haus' designs. The collab is available at retailers like Barneys, Neiman Marcus, and Shopbop in addition to the new Tribeca flagship. The Broome Street storefront the brand previously called home—initially the Julie Haus flagship—is now closed.
