In a recent photo series, our sister site checked in with retail spots and art galleries in Dumbo post-Hurricane Sandy. Susanne Konig, the owner of The powerHouse Arena bookstore and event space, explained: "We found books and postcards down to the East River." Though a fundraiser gave them a much-needed financial boost, the shop isn't in the clear yet, as the building's landlord plans to double the rent in March. [Curbed NY]
