Zero + Maria Cornejo Is Exiting the West Village

Today's the final day for Zero + Maria Cornejo's Greenwich Street store. The West Village location will close after seven years, "so that we can focus attention on our flagship at 33 Bleecker Street," an e-mail sent by the brand read. The Bleecker Street space, at the unassuming dead end of Mott Street, is large enough to present the entire range of clothing and accessories and also serves as the designer's headquarters. Kind of like Diane von Furstenberg's Meatpacking palace, but a little more, you know, Noho.

Also noted in the goodbye e-mail, besides the requisite thanks to all of the neighborhood shoppers, was a plan for an upgraded online presence. Perhaps one, solid New York store and a well-executed website is the formula for growing designer brands.
