Alexis Bittar Opens on the UWS, Employs a Colorful Muskox

Statement jeweler Alexis Bittar has set up shop on the Upper West Side, and he brought a stuffed yak with him. Actually, it's a muskox, who died of natural causes (but then was apparently dyed green and blue). Mumford, as the taxidermied mammal has been nicknamed by store staff, stands proudly at the 410 Columbus Avenue storefront, his horns adorned in the brand's cuffs, welcoming shoppers to the new outpost.

West Side Rag reports that the store, formerly a Supercuts, has rented for an all time neighborhood high: $330 per square foot. With the entire shop ringing in at 900 square feet, Mumford better get a good client list locked down stat.
