Four months after Hurricane Sandy hit, Red Hook's Fairway is gearing up to re-open. The festivities, which begin at 8:00am on March 1st, will be a celebration of the people who live and work in the neighborhood. Fairway's draw contributes heavily to the foot traffic that smaller Red Hook shops depend on. Expect demos, giveaways, Borough President Marty Markowitz, and Miss America Mallory Hytes Hagan—what more could you want in a grocery store party?
The re-opened store will boast a larger cafe, bigger aisles and an expanded bakery. After the jump, a pleasantly random video from two Fairway execs of the store just before it was finished.
