The retro-leaning girls of New York have a new boutique to frequent. SlapBack, which opened earlier this month at 490 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg, carries vintage reproductions heavy on the high-waisted silhouettes of the 1950s. From the decor to the merchandise, expect plenty of rockabilly staples like leopard print and checkerboard patterns.
Owner Renee DiDio was previously the retail director at Flywheel, so we're guessing she knows a thing or two about running a store. Slapback joins Bettie Page Clothing, the retro chain that just opened on Bowery, in the rockabilly revival that may or may not be taking place.
