Downtown shoppers who have a thing for awesome Japanese home goods and other odds-and-ends will pleased to know that Muji has just signed a ten-year lease for 52 Cooper Square. According to the Real Deal, brokers from Lee & Associates explained that "impending changes in the area spurred Muji''s decision" on the new location, which include Astor Place's Minskoff Equities office tower and growing foot traffic. The new shop will be the brand's fourth Manhattan store, with a fifth at JFK International Airport.
