H&M is said to have abandoned a lease for 853 Broadway at 14th Street. The retailer was supposed to take several floors encompassing 32,000 square feet at the address and was reportedly close to closing on the deal before stalling and now, apparently, abandoning. The owners relisted the space today.

It's been a busy year for H&M store openings in New York City. The company opened blockbuster locations at the Fulton Street Mall in Downtown Brooklyn and Times Square. They had planned to open their biggest store ever on Fifth Avenue and 48th Street, but then found an even bigger Herald Square store on a whim. It was recently rumored that they are looking at a space on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, as well.
