Welcome back to our obsessive coverage of Dover Street Market, where we're taking Rei Kawakubo's multibrand store floor by floor, leaving no kooky detail unmentioned.

The Prada and Louis Vuitton shops added a lot of buzz to Dover Street Market before it even opened. The Louis Vuitton shop is on the bottom floor, Prada is at the top, and everything else is in between. Louis Vuitton is surrounded by pastries and poundcake, jewelry, elegant Mark Cross bags, and BLACK Comme des Garcons. Prada is sandwiched between Visvim and Supreme, Andre Walker and Junya Watanabe ready-to-wear.

Visually, the shops are night and day. The Louis Vuitton area is brightly lit and open, and it's surrounded by a minimal wooden cage-like structure. Currently, the clothing and accessories are from the Louis Vuitton menswear collection. Every six weeks, the shop will switch off between menswear and womenswear.
The Prada shop, on the other hand, will have clothing from both its menswear and womenswear collections at all times. The setup is dark, dramatic, and over the top. The walls are covered in paintings of women and landscapes, and the floor is tiled in green and black.
Both shops carry something special: Louis Vuitton has limited edition menswear from the brand's collaboration with the artist Terence Koh, including jackets and buttons featuring Koh's designs. Unlike the Prada collection, the Louis Vuitton x Terence Koh collab was not created specifically for the store.
Up in the Prada shop, find a lot of clothing that Miuccia designed exclusively for Dover Street Market New York. These can't be found anywhere else in the world—on top of that, the rest of the selection consists of pieces hand-picked by Miuccia Prada for the store.
