Unaccompanied minors were banned from Kings Plaza this weekend following the swarm of teenagers whose violence caused the shopping center to close for an hour on Thursday evening. Reports from the incident include smashing displays, stealing, throwing things off of balconies, and violence between the teenagers and bystanders.
The Brooklyn mall imposed the rule on Friday, not allowing anyone under 18 in without an adult, but lifted the ban Sunday. To help combat further violence at the mall, the NYPD will deploy additional officers to Kings Plaza.
