Details from the invite-only Christian Louboutin sample sale are beginning to leak. Apparently, VVIP shopping began Monday and ran through Tuesday, accommodating "a close clique of fashion journalists and bloggers with a sprinkle of leggy models" (and Johnny Weir). Today the sale will open to regular VIPs with invites—and appointments.
Those shopping today will have a limited amount of time to browse, while yesterday's patrons had unlimited shopping time. And, oh, the things they found: unlike previous sales from the brand, this one offers more classic styles than ever, as well as a healthy range of boots and booties. Most footwear for ladies is priced $250 to $500. Spies on the inside report that "almost every shopper ended up with at least ten pairs of shoes each."
The sale also includes men's footwear, as seen in yesterday's Instagram leak by figure skater Johnny Weir. Madison Avenue Spy reports that "the men's selection is so good that women are sizing down and purchasing the shoes for themselves." Guys' smoking slippers range from $300 to $400, depending on the level of detail.
The handbag selection was pillaged in the last few days, with extinction forecasted for mid-day today.
Thinking about crashing? There are no less than three clipboards to pass: lobby, elevator, and showroom. Madison Avenue Spy expects the line to be long today.
