The Metropolitan Pavilion is still overwhelmingly packed with merchandise on day two of the Dolce & Gabanna sample sale. The quick rundown is that prices are organized by the year; items from 2013 are 50% off, 2012 items are 60% off, 2011 is 70% off, and anything predating 2010 is 80% off.
The women's apparel racks are pretty clustered, with some of the better pieces on the outerwear racks. The gown selection has a few great lace designs in sizes 38 and 40, but prices are still pretty steep. If you have time, sort through the racks for unique pieces like the 2012 3D petal full-skirt and cropped shirt.
As far as shoes go, there's still a lot to be mulled over in sizes 39 through 40, but not much for anyone else. (Sizes 35.5 through 36 seemed to be doing okay, but 37s and 38s were scarce in comparison.) The bag selection was equally subpar—lots of summery florals, sequins, and metallic styles to be found, with the occasional basic leather tote. There were a lot of straw beach bags from the 2012 collection.
The men's area has a good offering of button-down shirts available in sizes 28 through 42 in black and white; these are all 50% off. We spotted an awesome 2010 Moto Jacket in size 41, as well as a few three-button velvet jackets available in black, maroon, hunter green, and brown, all in size 48. There's also a hot pink sequined blazer from the 2011 collection, but only one 48 available. Sorry, everyone else.
When we stopped by this afternoon, there was no line to get in, in comparison to yesterday's wait. The sale runs from 9am to 6pm today and tomorrow, and from 9am to 7pm on Thursday, the last day. See the dealfeed below for more info.—Esther Levy-Chehebar
