Athleta, the Gap-owned activewear brand, has opened their third Manhattan store at 126 Fifth Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets. It's the first downtown location for the brand, which also has units on the Upper East and West Sides.
Flatiron was a wise choice, as there's a huge concentration of fitness studios in the area, including a new SoulCycle pegged for 19th Street. The store sells apparel for studio sports as well as outdoor gear and plans to offer free fitness classes year round.
