The Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale Is Under 100 People, for Now

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Rebecca Minkoff sample sale opens to the public today at noon, and as of 11:30 there were approximately 80 people in line. Not too terrible, but we're told it's growing by the minute. It's pretty small queue for what's normally a really long line, but that may be due to crowds gathered for the Veterans Day Parade, which runs from 26th Street to 52nd Street on Fifth Avenue.

This isn't the first time a long sample sale line has intermingled with a major national event—last year, passerby mistook those outside the Alexander Wang sample sale in Soho for the line to vote for the 2012 presidential election.
