A tipster sent in images of progress at Urban Outfitters' new Financial District store. As previously reported, the store will span four levels and is at the site of a 600-bed Pace University dorm.
Overwhelmed by UO's NYC store openings? Here's the quick version: the megabrand has three NYC stores on its plate right now. In Williamsburg, the company is trying to get liquor license approval for their concept store, called The Space Ninety 8, which will have a restaurant on site. The community board is not pleased with the idea, but they are only an advisory to the State Liquor Authority, which makes the final call.
Meanwhile, in Herald Square, the retailer is opening an enormous "lifestyle center" with "features never before seen from the brand."
It looks like the aforementioned FiDi store will be the first to open of the three, possibly followed by Williamsburg, which seems to have more details surrounding it than Herald Square.
