Almost two years after shuttering on Fifth Avenue, Just Cavalli has re-opened in Soho. The brand had licensee troubles, of which designer Roberto Cavalli said, "The brand was like a beloved child that was seriously ill, and I feel like the doctor. I enjoyed bringing it back."
Regarding the location choice, he adds, "I like the idea of having the store on West Broadway, because I used to live there. It's an area that I adore. There are also a number of designer brands that rarely make mistakes in positioning, such as Giorgio Armani's Emporio Armani store, for example."
Store decor references Cavalli's undying love for all things animal print, including glass stairs embedded with python-print fabric and animal spots on a diamond-shaped video wall. Shoes, runway pieces, ready-to-wear, jewelry, watches, and handbags are all available at the flagship. The brand plans to open a Saks Fifth Avenue shop-in-shop uptown in the future.
