Whole Foods is rumored to be signing a lease for 36,000 square feet across the street from Bryant Park. The location, at 1095 Sixth Avenue, might be a new concept for the grocer with a focus on prepared foods—and places to eat them—instead of shopping. With the high density of office workers in the area, this would be a logical configuration for the store, which is said to occupy the ground and second levels.
Another rumor in the same building has watch store Tourneau grabbing 3,000 square feet. Nearby, budget-friendly gym Blink is said to be considering 20,000 square feet in the basement of 1065 Sixth Avenue—an interesting move because its parent company Equinox is confirmed for a space right around the corner.
