Soho Rumor Mill Says Tory Burch Will Replace Shuttered MercBar

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Yesterday evening was last call at MercBar, after two decades in business. According to a well-informed Racked tipster, Tory Burch is apparently taking over the location, which is at 151 Mercer Street right next to the upcoming Balenciaga men's store and across the street from the other Balenciaga store.

We're reached out to the Tory Burch team and will update with any new information—so far, there's no word on an opening date or what the designer plans to do with the building (there are reports of it crumbling), but we're told it's going to be a doozy. [Photo]
