The former Disney Store at 711 Fifth Avenue has been vacant since late 2009, but today the Post reports that it may have finally found a new tenant. Maybe. Apparently, several sources claim that Ralph Lauren is negotiating a deal for the 35,000 square foot space. (Part of the former Disney store is currently occupied by Breguet, the Swiss luxury watch retailer.)
If the news is true, that means Ralph Lauren could potentially have three new store to play with sometime next year, pending on if they keep the locations of the shuttering Rugby stores on Bleecker Street and University Place. All that asides, kudos to this commenter for calling it nearly three years ago.
