Over the weekend, Scoop NYC soft-launched a new pop-up at their Meatpacking District concept shop, and we stopped by yesterday afternoon to take a look. Nestled between their men's and women's storefronts, the pop-up collaboration features the Sea resort collection. The brand has been sold in Scoop stores in the past and has garnered a cult following, but this collaboration marks the first time it'll be highlighted in its own pop-up space.
As for the clothes, the collection offers an array of silhouettes and fabrics, and the combination of textures and patterns in the shop must be seen and felt to be fully appreciated. Designers Sean Monahan and Monica Paolini have somehow figured out how to seamlessly mesh fluorescent pink and linen together into statement pieces that you and your mother would happily wear.
Prices are fairly standard for Scoop, starting out at around $150 for a lace jersey tee, and topping off at $645 for the tweed/leather moto jacket. The collection boasts a variety of standout shapes, along with stars, stripes, and leopard print motifs. It also mixes subtle neutrals with bold pinks and yellows that should cure this week's winter blues.
On January 31st, the pop-up will host a launch party to celebrate the official opening. After that, you'll have one full month to shop, as it'll head out of Meatpacking on February 28th.—Naomi Collett Ritz
