Jodie Trzaska, the owner of the month-old Greenpoint shop Artifact, recently told Brooklyn Based: "We want anyone to be able to come in here and find something that they love—whether you're 50 or you're 15, whether you have $5 in your pocket or $500 in your pocket." For those of you with just $5, might we suggest the Pabst Blue Ribbon lip-balm, which Trzaska sells alongside things like Garbage Pail Kids cards, Turkish rugs, and other vintage or locally made items.
As for what else you can expect to find, Trzaska explains that the store is filled with the type of things that may already exist in the living room of the wackiest member of your family. "[It's] eclectic, a little eccentric, but also a little homey. Maybe like your weird aunt!" Other items include housewares, like gilded mirrors from Leah Beth Fishman and ceramic planters by Makers Circle's, as well as jewelry, clothing, books, and a curiously large selection of rulers.
